"ABOH": CLAP FOR M’TRILL

Read Time:1 Minute, 21 Second

You must have heard someone say “Music is sweet”; oh well that’s my take on this song – “Aboh” by M’trill. I have heard this song before and immediately he pressed play, I knew it was a song that will attract love and even more fans to this Port Harcourt boy.

Aboh‘ means ‘Clap’ in Urhobo language (Delta, Nigeria) but this song makes you do much more than that. I clapped and danced in a traditional way and to think it’s rap music blows my mind.

This is Rap music, coated in Highlife with edgy rhythm and rich use of traditional percussions. This is how to make rap music for all ages. You have to keep replaying this song as it has that element that makes you want more. Lyrics are basic, no heavy bars and you can tell it’s a sincere attempt to cut across in a very simple way. A move that should be appreciated.

I think a video will boost the market value of this song…I picture a traditional set and young and old people…ok I’ll leave that to the artist and director but it should be fun to see.

Two things in conclusion – “Aboh” will make you clap for M-Trill or clap to the song…either way… you should get on your feet and clap – standing ovation.

Listen and Download “Aboh” by M’trill.
