I’ve been privileged to watch Ese Peters perform live and I feel bad for you if you’ve not… don’t mind me but seriously, this dude can sing.
His major strength is his ability to manipulate the guitar…yes he can play with his eyes closed and his subtle voice can captivate the most careless listener. His confidence can be mistaken for cocky and the fact that he’s not everywhere does not restrict him when he ‘grabs the mic’.
I was excited when I heard he was finally dropping his first/official single and having the opportunity to share the song with fans of my blog gives me great joy.
“Omote” as rendered by Ese Peters is a brilliantly crafted Rock ballad that not only pierce through the heart of listeners but also reveals a need to really pay attention to this young lad.
“Omote” is like a love letter, unashamedly passionate, with earnest lyrics delivered over soaring melodies. The direction offers a new anthem for all lovers with the urge to tell one another how they truly feel.
Ese Peters has enjoyed critical and commercial success since embarking on his solo career in 2010: his previously released songs – “Gone (Wetin I Go Do?)”, “Stay With Me” and “Walk Away” – were all well-received by the public, as was his 2011 independent release ‘The Acoustic EP’, a collection of acoustic renditions of his singles and of classic songs such as Asa’s “Baby Gone” and Darey’s “The Way You Are”.
A talented singer and songwriter, gifted with a distinctive, understated but emotionally resonant vocal style, Ese Peters’ vibe is unique and original. He has developed a dedicated following among music lovers drawn by his musical explorations of the various dimensions to love, hope and faith.
Music lovers have similarly been receptive to Ese’s live performances at industry events such as Taruwa, Rock Nite, Freedom Hall and One Mic Naija. Based on his background of great songwriting and memorable live performances, he has been marked as an emerging star of the thriving Nigerian alternative music scene.
Currently signed to AbOriginal Music, Ese Peters is putting finishing touches to a new, eponymous EP scheduled for release later in the year.
