After three years of enjoying massive attention with “Omo Too Sexy”, Justina Ogunlolu simply known as Justina resurfaces with two intriguing singles titled “So Tempting” (Omo Gbabe) and “Ashikituga”. Both songs, which has already leaked to some radio stations mark a grand come back for the talented singer.
The singer who has been touring around the globe with her international band says she’s not back to ride on past glory. In her words, “I have been underground working really hard on myself and my music. I want listeners to really feel me on my new songs and not necessarily for my “Omo2Sexy” fame. On “So Tempting”, produced by Del B, Justina takes time to woo the male folks in a groovy tone.
The upbeat and rhythmic bass flow of the song makes it a potential party favourite. Mikoyo produced “Ashikituga” which means, “Your lies have been exposed” in Delta Ibo. Here she explores her vocal strength to tell a story of mistrust and heartbreak, typical of some relationships. “My new songs are in contrast with each other; relationships come with its ups and downs but above all, I tried to strike a balance by reaching out to everybody.”
Two of Nigeria’s top directors will shoot the videos for both songs – one in London and the other in Nigeria. It may interest you to know that Justina is presently in talks with Mo’Hits manager, Sunday Are and the outcome of their meetings will be made public in due time.
Justina Ogunlolu is one of Nigeria’s promising female act. She started singing at a tender age of eight, appearing as the lead singer of various gospel choirs around the country till her teens.
Her star qualities were first recognized in 2007 when she emerged first runner-up at the Nokia First Chance talent show. She later took a bold leap in 2008, releasing her first single “Omo2Sexy”. This single did not only enjoy massive rotation locally and internationally, it also became Justina’s gateway to limelight.
The infectious Pop song is an ode to the guys as portrayed in the video which was shot in London and directed by Mr Skillz of JJC. In 2009,she was recognized by the Women-in-Entertainment Awards (WIEA) where she clinched the award for the Best Nigerian female of the year in London. Justina is an entertainer par excellence. She effortlessly combines various elements of music to further project her vocal prowess. Her music is dynamic – combining R n B, Soul, Hip-hop and Pop plus, she’s a great dancer.
Justina leads a cover band in Europe called “The United Nations” and has graced live stage performances in Switzerland, Germany, Spain, Austria, Italy, France, UK, East and West Africa. She also has a band in Nigeria called “The Wyse Birds”.
