NEW MUSIC: "AWON BOYZ" – A SHORT REVIEW

Terry Tha Rapman is back again with another single off his upcoming ‘World Domination‘ Mixtape. The song “Awon Boyz” features some of the game’s finests – Pherowshuz, Olamide and Vector.

When four emcees converge on a record, you know it’s going down for real. You can’t miss most of the sick lines emanated on this joint, even if you don’t pay attention. Pherowshuz ends his fierce verse with, “…I can kill you with two bars (tubers) – no be yam“…

Olamide is a good rapper but on this joint, I think he got too cocky. Vocals – shouting, not articulate… his verse is like a good gift in a dirty wrap. I understand it’s somewhat his style but if you listen to other verses, you’ll agree that the contrast from his verse was just off it.

Vector – the viper as he’s also called has been impressive since day one and he seem to get iller per song… “Emi ni omo na toh strong, ton speak/awon iyioku dabi Tony, won weak (One week)…”

Terry is undoubtedly one of the timeless veterans of Rap/Hiphop in Nigeria. His flow is signatory, you can’t miss him on a song. On this joint, I’ll like to say, he played ‘Big Bros’… this is probably one of his most literal verse ever. And his words are as simple as said – “…If you’re hot, you’re hot…if you’re not, you’re not“
