So I have been up and about on this sunny Wednesday to hustle for my daily bread as usual – hopping from one meeting to another okada to justify what comes in and even if nothing comes in, the clouds can bear witness that it saw me amongst many heads that stepped under it today. Tomorrow is another day.
Getting home, work continues – oh yes the hustle goes round the clock and paper works are not done on the road. I’ve gat emails to read, send and reply. Part of my job description is receiving songs, new song releases and press releases to spread the word on the Jarmzone.
One of the songs that caught my attention today is “Oh Nana” by this upcoming, yet talented artist by the name El Prince. This apparently is an official re-introductory single and from all indications, this dude sounds as one that has been around for a while. Adept beat chef, Del B prepared the beat to this song, giving it a groovy tempo and a clear excuse for listeners to either bop their head or pick a dance step to further express appreciation for it.
“Oh Nana” is a love song but rendered with intent to appeal a wider audience; hence it will also come handy to club DJs and private party organizers. It has that sing-along factor and the repetition of the hook makes it stick in your ears. Delivered in English with a touch of Ibo and Yoruba in between, “Oh Nana” if well promoted and as fast as possible, should find shelter in the hearts of music lovers across the country especially at a this time, when there’s not a lot of new songs in rotation.
Real name Prince Chimaobi Adieze is a singer-songwriter, dancer, instrumentalist and entertainer. He started singing and playing instruments like the guitar, piano and drums from the age of nine. Since the 90s’, he has been crawling his way up Nigeria’s music scene, performing hooks for other artists, and appearing as young talent alongside veterans – Daddy Showkey, Marvelous Benji and other great names from the star-studded Ajegunle area of Lagos, Nigeria.
El Prince is signed to Awestar Entertainment and his other works include “Liki Liki” and “Giri Die” ft. Igho. He already has a growing fan base across the country and he regularly organizes gigs in his hood for other upcoming talents.
